“Symfaunic” Art Book

“Symfaunic” is a short film set in a magical forest in Ireland where a young faun challenges the harmony of her forest glade when her new taste in music clashes with her brother’s teachings.

When creating the art book for the short film, it was important to us to capture the whimsy and color that characterizes the film’s style, and also pay homage to its Celtic inspiration. The art book is divided between two different kinds of pages; lore centric and art and marketing centric. Lore centric pages are modeled to look like a hand written journal, as if the two siblings that lead the film are writing about their home and background from their perspective. Art and marketing pages are written from a third person perspective to focus on the thought process behind each artistic choice.
